Adele's "25" album had its new songs leaked prior to its official release this weekend. Advance copies of the CD were also allegedly sold illegally in American Target stores.
According to a report from Independent UK, a link was posted to Twitter earlier this week by an account named "25 is coming." The page contained new tracks from the soulful British singer, which were downloaded by several users before the site got deleted.
The sales website of London-based record store Juno Records also allegedly shared two-minute previews of 11 new songs from Adele's "25" album. The snippets were later removed by the shop, which has yet to comment on the leak.
Several fans of the "Rolling in the Deep" singer who got hold of the leaked Adele "25" album gave reviews on the new songs.
"Stock up on copious wine because you're going to need it," said a writer named Eliza Thompson. "'Hello' isn't the only song on 25 that will have you crying in public."
Another related report revealed that American Target stores have also been illegally selling advance copies of "25."
According to a report from Mirror UK, the allegations came out after somebody tweeted a photo of Adele's soon-to-be released album. "@HausofFrancis Just copped that new Adele album at Target[.] Retweet if you want me to leak it," the post read.
Target eventually denied the alleged leak. "The Target sales are not true," they said.
The official release of Adele's "25" album and the new songs will coincide with her BBC Music Special this weekend. Because of the anticipation surrounding her new release, Daily Mail reported how the singer-songwriter herself joked about breaking the internet similar to when Kim Kardashian released her nude "Paper" magazine feature.
"I did a Kim Kardashian," Adele joked. "Thank God it wasn't with my ass. It would've actually broke the internet if it was my bum!"
