The "Fast & Furious" spinoff movies are now confirmed and new characters are set to be introduced soon.
In a report by Game Spot, "Fast & Furious" will have its spinoffs and sequels in the coming years after the huge success of its latest installment "Furious 7."
Vin Diesel, the lead character and producer for the "Fast & Furious" movies, has already promised three sequels and spinoffs. He added that they are planning to take the movies beyon "Furious 10."
"We've written out story lines for various characters," Vin Diesel said to Variety . "We've been playing with it for a long time. It's a very rich property and we're committed to treating it with a lot of class."
The statement of Vin Diesel was also asserted by Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley, who said that new characters are currently in the talks.
"We're certainly in conversations about how we can expand the franchise now. It's an ensemble cast and there's room to bring characters in and out," she said.
Last September, it was reported that "Furious 8" will be released in April 2017 with F. Gary gray of "Straight Outta Compton" as its new director.
Reports said that its previous series directors James Wan and Justin Lin have reportedly turned down the offers for the upcoming movies.
"Furious 7" was already recorded as the highest grossing action film after earning more than $1.5 billion worldwide. Apart from Vin Diesel, the movie was starred by Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, and Tyrese Gibson. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has also participated in their previous two installments.
"Furious 7" was the first movie without one of its lead cast member Paul Walker following his demise in 2013 due to a car crash.
According to Box Office Mojo, "Furious 7' is the fifth biggest film ever made in the movie history.
