"Modern Family" actor Reid Ewing revealed recently about his body dysmorphic disorder and the countless cosmetic surgeries he has undergone as a result of the disorder.

Ewing wrote recently in Huffington blog post that he has undergone numerous plastic surgeries as a result of his body dysmorphic disorder. The 27-year-old actor underwent first cosmetic surgery in 2008 at the age of 19 after he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career, according to People.

Reid Ewing's Multiple Cosmetic Surgeries

Ewing noted in his post that he felt if he had a surgery to alter his face he began to resemble actor Brad Pitt. After consulting a cosmetic surgeon he decided to go for cheek uplift procedure which didn't turn out the way he expected.

The actor added that the next morning he woke up from the bed screaming of pain with tears rolling down his cheeks. Since he had to wear a face-mask he spent two weeks in a hotel on drugs to ease the pain.

"The lower half of my cheeks were as hollow as a corpse's," Ewing said. "I went back to the doctor several times in a frenzy, but he kept refusing to operate on me for another six months, saying I would eventually get used to the change. I couldn't let anyone see me like this, so I stayed in complete isolation," the actor noted.

Reid Ewing Had Psychological Issues And Not Cosmetic

Ewing who was not satisfied with the result met another plastic surgeon who suggested him to have chin implants to repair his sunken-in-face. He admitted that none of the procedures worked and he had to undergo one surgery after another to fix the problems that arose as a result of the new procedure.

The actor that suffered depression, isolation and self-hate finally decided not to have any more surgeries ever after. He noted that none of the doctors suggested him to meet a psychologist and get his problem sorted out though they knew his problem was not cosmetic but psychological, reported Mail Online.
