"Nashville" fame actress Hayden Panettiere is said to be recovering well from her postpartum depression after she checked into a treatment facility last October.

Panettiere and her fiancé Wladimir Klitschko welcomed their daughter Kaya in December last year. The Hollywood star openly confirmed that she was suffering from postpartum depression since the birth of her baby.

'I suffered a bit of postpartum depression. You're not alone or crazy, ladies!' wrote Panettiere reported the Daily Mail.

The actress opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression during an interview on the daytime talk show "Live with Kelly and Michael."

"When they tell you about postpartum depression, you think it's 'I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child," Panettiere said on the show.

"I've never, ever had those feelings. And some women do."

The actress stressed that women should talk more about this condition considering the fact that it affects a large number of women soon after they give birth.

"It's something that's completely uncontrollable," she said. "It's really painful and it's really scary and women need a lot of support."

She left "Nashville" to check herself into a treatment center around ten months after giving birth to the baby girl.

"Hayden Panettiere is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression. She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time," Panettiere's rep had announced in an official statement, according to Franchise Herald.

Recently, Panettiere's costar Riley Smith told US Weekly that the actress was doing well after checking into the treatment center.

"Good," Smith said. "I texted her, and wished her well. She texted me right back and said, 'I'm awesome, thanks.' So hopefully she will be back on the set soon."

Coincidently, Hayden's "Nashville" character Juliette Barnes is also suffering from postpartum depression onscreen.

"Nashville" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
