"NCIS" season 13 actor Michael Weatherly reportedly spent nearly 15 hours in jail after he was hauled for DUI violation earlier this month.

TMZ reported that Michael Weatherly, who plays Agent Tony DiNozzo in "NCIS" season 13, was stopped for going above the speed limit, but when they suspected that he was intoxicated, they conducted a sobreity test.

The police officers found out that his blood alcohol levels were above the legal limit, which prompted them to throw him in jail for DUI violation.

If a judge will convict the "NCIS" season 13 star, Michael Weatherly could face imprisonment of up to six months, although the actor playing Tony DiNozzo would likely be sentenced to community service and probation considering that it was his first offence and there was no aggravating circumstances.

Things would have been worse for Michael Weatherly had he been involved in a road incident causing damage to property or worse, claimed a life.

Nevertheless, "NCIS" season 13 actor Michael Weatherly was charged with two counts of DUI.

Michael Weatherly has two children with wife Bojana Jankovicm, Olivia, 3, Liam, 2, and also anotiher son, 19-year-old August, from a previous marriage to Amelia Heinle.

He has been playing Agent DiNozzo since 2003, and the physical demands of the character-as well as the pressure of being the ladies man-prompted him to embarking on a fitness regimen that allowed him to drop 35 pounds.

"I was really gratified when I went into wardrobe at the start of the season and could fit in a season 1 jacket," he told People. "Most importantly, I had more energy and more stamina. It's very hard. I go through periods of working so hard, I don't know when to exercise. And I'm surrounded by some food options that wouldn't be my first choice. But you do the best you can."

To date, Michael Weatherly has yet to issue a statement on the DUI arrest.
