Andy Murray just gave Britain its first Davis Cup win after 79 years and his pregnant wife Kim Sears was there to witness the historic moment.

And according to Daily Mail, the calls for Andy Murray to be knighted after winning the Davis Cup gained traction.

"Murray helped win Britain's first title since 1936 following a closely-fought match against David Goffin of Belgium at the Flanders Expo stadium in Ghent," it said. "Sealing victory in three sets, he fell to the floor sobbing as he embraced his teammates and was lifted aloft in celebration while fans lined up to take selfies with the player."

His pregnant wife, artist Kim Sears, wore loose-fitting white dress that covered her baby bump. She also shed some tears as she watched her husband broke down on the field.

Later in the press conference, Andy Murray called the Davis Cup victory the highlight of his career.

"It's obviously an amazing feeling," the tennis ace said. "You know, I imagine it will take a few days before it really sinks in. But I probably haven't been as emotional as that after a match that I've won.

He added, "I've been pretty upset having lost matches before. But I'd say that's probably the most emotional I've been after a win. It's incredible that we managed to win this competition. I didn't know that would ever be possible. It's great."

It's also good that the attention was trained on Andy Murray more than his pregnant wife Kim Sears after his Davis Cup victory.

The tennis ace said before that his pregnant wife is not comfortable under the limelight.

"I know she doesn't like that and doesn't want that," he told the New York Times. "We've never asked for that. It's not something that she courts. She doesn't like being in the newspapers, and people commenting on what she's wearing and how she looks, and those sorts of things."
