Final episode of the popular Disney animated series "Gravity Falls" season 2 will be aired next year.
Creator of the series "Gravity Falls", Alex Hirsch, recently revealed in a Tumblr post entitled "Goodbye Gravity Falls" that the mystery adventure series would be reaching its end soon. In other words, there is only one more final episode left to be aired before "Gravity Falls" season 2 gets over.
"Gravity Falls is coming to an end," Hirsch noted in a post on Tumblr reported Enstarz.
"There are two more episodes left: 'Weirdmageddon II: Escape from Reality' and 'Weirdmageddon III' which will be our hour long series finale. After that, Gravity Falls as we know it will be over."
Explaining the reason behind the decision, Hirsch said that Gravity Falls is not being canceled, but rather finished. The 'Gravity falls' creator went on to explain that he had made the decision to tell a contained story a long time ago and that he wanted to give an ending that had a real conclusion for the show's characters.
"The first thing to know is that the show isn't being cancelled - it's being finished. This is 100% my choice, and its [sic] something I decided on a very long time ago," he said, according to Tech Times.
"I always designed Gravity Falls to be a finite series about one epic summer- a series with a beginning, middle, and end. There are so many shows that go on endlessly until they lose their original spark, or mysteries that are cancelled before they ever get a chance to payoff."
Alex also confirmed that there are no plans to create a season 3.
While one of the series' final episodes was aired last Monday, the "Gravity Falls" season 2 final episode Weirdmageddon III" release date is yet to be scheduled. It is expected that the last episode might be aired sometime in 2016.
