The latest news on Oscar Pistorius reveal that the prosecution appeal for the high court to reverse the manslaughter ruling will be out in a couple of days, or more specifically on Dec 3.
"The shamed track star known as the 'Blade Runner' will not be in the Supreme Court of Appeal to hear Justice Eric Leach read the decision of the five-strong panel," said Daily Mail.
"If found guilty of murder, the 29-year-old, who is currently under house arrest at his uncle's mansion in the capital Pretoria, must return to court in the New Year to be resentenced."
Previous news reports have said that the prosecution appealed the ruling by Judge Thokozile Masipa who convicted Oscar Pistorius of culpable homicide for the death of Reeva Steenkamp after claiming that there's no sufficient proof to hold the paralympian of premeditated murder.
Culpable homicide, according to the Independent, is the "South African equivalent of manslaughter" and "carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years."
The judge said there were other ways where he could have dealt with the threat, instead of using a gun.
"All the accused had to do was pick up the phone and ring security, or run to the balcony and call for help," she said.
In other latest news, a correction officer told Times Live that Oscar Pistorius did not receive special treatment being a paralympian at the Kgosi Mampuru II maximum prison, although they had to give some allowances on his condition as a double-amputee.
"Oscar Pistorius did not receive any preferential treatment while he was under our care," regional commissioner Gauteng Mandla Mkabela said. "We have a duty to ensure that an inmate is not assaulted, raped or victimised. He was entitled to the same conditions while he was in our care."
