According to the latest 2015 NBA rumors, the Los Angeles Lakers are reported trying to trade Nick Young, Lou Williams and Ryan Kelly for pieces as the team will tank to join the Ben Simmons sweepstakes next year.
There's no redeeming value for this season as the Los Angeles Lakers are nursing a 2-13 record. But there's good news as the team's resources won't be taken up by one Kobe Bryant, who announced that he's retiring after this season next season, allowing for greater financial flexibility to go after the big names.
But Yibada claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers will figure in most NBA trade rumors going forward because they are looking to sign Ben Simmons next year.
Ben Simmons, the top College prospect who has been compared to Lebron James, has been quoted as saying on Snapchat, "You can catch me on the Lakers next year."
However, it won't be that easy, said Lakers Nation.
"The Lakers still owe their draft pick to the Philadelphia 76ers via the Steve Nash trade of 2012. The oly way the team retains the pick is if it lands in the top three," it said. And retaining that top three pick would be difficult.
Meanwhile, in other NBA trade rumors 2015, the Los Angeles Clippers-currently langushing at a pedestrian 10-8 record despite its all-star roster-are reportedly looking to ship out some pieces to get over the hump.
Sports Illustrated's Sam Amico tweeted on Dec. 1, "Clippers making some exploratory calls, seeing what may be available. Little early for trade chatter but they're not happy. #nba."
Clipperholic noted that the Los Angeles Clippers can't make any move until the deadline allowing teams to trade off their free agent signings, which is going to be on Dec. 15.
Among the names that could be traded are "Josh Smith, Paul Pierce, Wesley Johnson, Pablo Prigioni, Luc Mbah a Moute and Cole Aldrich."
