Playboy, the famous American men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine is planning to release its last ever nude issue with Pamela Anderson on its front cover. Playboy magazine is finally ending its 60 years long era of featuring nude women on its cover.
Playboy Magazine was founded in Chicago in the year 1953 by Hugh Hefner and associates. Hefner declared the news in October 2015 that the publication will stop printing photos of nude women as the content has become outdated due to its easy and free availability on the internet. Playboy's circulation had been greatly affected in recent years as it dropped from being 5.6 million in 1975 to 800,000, reported Independent.
The magazine will release a new design in its March 2016 issue and will continue to publish seductive and sexy pictorials of women that will not be nude.
Meanwhile, Hefner's representatives contacted Anderson, 48, to feature in the photo shoot of their last nude issue which is to be published in Jan/Feb 2016. The "Bay Watch" star accepted the offer after confirmation from her 19 years old son, Brandon.
"I got a call from [Hugh Hefner's] attorney who said, 'We don't want anybody else. There's nobody else, could you do the last cover of Playboy?'" Anderson told Entertainment Tonight. "I said, 'Hef just called, he wants me to do the last cover of Playboy,' and [Brandon] goes, 'Mom you've got to do it,'" according to The Telegraph.
On being told by Anderson that the photo shoot will involve nude pictures, Brandon said he is not embarrassed anymore and admires her mother for her work. In the past, for years, Brandon and his brother Dylan, 17, had been teased and made fun of by other kids that had led them to few fist fights over his mom.
Anderson has been associated with the Playboy Magazine since 1989. The last nude issue of the magazine will be her 14th appearance on the publication's cover which is the highest for any celebrity till date.
