Chris Brown has been inspired by his daughter to do charity work. According to a report from New York Daily News, the R&B star detailed how he will share proceeds of his new album with Children's Miracle Network.
Aside from naming his 7th studio release after his one-year-old baby Royalty, Chris Brown's love for his daughter has motivated him to help other children.
As a result, the "Loyal" singer linked a charitable component to his upcoming record by donating $1 for every album sold. Chris Brown's beneficiary is Children's Miracle Network, a nonprofit group that benefits pediatric hospitals and raises awareness of children's health issues.
The Grammy-winning artist explained how he realized that giving back is important for celebrities like him.
"You have these platforms and these positions as an artist," Chris Brown said about the initiative. "It only matters if you help people along the way."
Hip Hop Wired also reported about the project, which Chris Brown first announced on his official Instagram page.
"The holidays are all about giving back," he wrote. "So this Christmas[,] one dollar of every album sold with go to Children's Miracle Network Hospital."
"So please do your part [and] give back. We're just gonna turn up for the holidays," he added.
During an interview in "On-Air with Ryan Seacrest" that was shared in the media personality's official website, Chris Brown said focusing on his daughter has helped him change.
After years of battling with anger management and substance abuse issues, the controversial singer said that he is ready to move on from his troubled past.
"I'm not insecure and ashamed of who I am and what I've been through in my life," Chris Brown said.
"I just chose now to let people learn from my situation and try to understand that I'm human and everybody is human as well."
