Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have a history with Cambodia as it is the birthplace of their son Maddox, but the power couple just reinforced that link with her new film, "First They Killed My Father," which will also feature the debut of the 14-year-old.
Over the weekend, Brad Pitt and wife Angelina Jolie attended the Cambodian International Film Festival in the capital, Phnom Penh.
"Angelina looked happy as she appeared on stage to discuss her work with Cambodian film maker Rithy Panh, who has made acclaimed films and documentaries about the genocide," said Daily Mail. "The mother-of-six wore a long black dress with thin straps as she smiled and chatted with film festival attendees."
Providing a stark contrast to Angelina Jolie's outfit was husband Brad Pitt who wore an all-white ensemble complete with a white Panama hat.
Speaking to Deadline, Angelina Jolie said the book by Loung Ung from which the film was adapted had a huge impact on her.
"It deepened forever my understanding of how children experience war and are affected by the emotional memory of it. And it helped me draw closer still to the people of Cambodia, my son's homeland," she said.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt just finished "By the Sea" together, which was panned by critics and fans alike as it opened to less than stellar numbers at the box-office, amid rumors that it was based on their marriage.
The "Fight Club" actor talked to V magazine as he hinted of some stress in collaborating with Angelina Jolie for the film, "By The Sea."
"It was probably not the wisest thing to spend a honeymoon but then again," he quipped. fighting to make something together... what better metaphor for marriage? It's not a film that responds to the current zeitgeist or storytelling - rather, a quiet, mature look at the challenges of love and adult loss."
