Oppo R7s arrived earlier this quarter, Oppo's latest smartphone to have the R7 name, which, according to Android Central, is among the best things in the Android ecosystem this year with its great specs and impressive price.
According to Digital Trends, Chinese original equipment manufacturer Oppo has been making "very unusual phones." The Oppo R7s announced in October is an evolution of the earlier R7 phones that focuses on lightweight, power and thinness, instead of some weird features like rotating camera lenses.
At £259 or $400, the Oppo R7s is priced as a mid-range smartphone, and it has good looks. Its hardware specs sheet lists octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 CPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage expandable with microSD, 3070mAh non-removable battery with "Flash Charger" to fill the battery 90 percent with 50 minutes charging, 13MP main camera, 8MP selfie shooter and Android 5.1 with Color OS 2.1, the OEM's custom take on Android.
The Oppo R7s box also comes with earbuds, clear TPU case and VOOC fast charge power brick. The smartphone is not the smallest handset but it is lightweight and slim, said Android Central. Its 5.5-inch 1080 AMOLED display is vivid, pleasant and bright.
The phone was first set to go on sale late November in Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia and Thailand. It can be purchased in the US. and Europe from the Oppo Style website at $400 for the unlocked SIM-free phone.
The Oppo R7s smartphone is of metal alloy with special coating at the top for the finish, and Arc Edge or 2.5D shape Gorilla Glass 3 covers the display.
The most recent ColorOS is much faster with enhancements in boots speeds and app launch, as well as interesting software additions like notifications on lock or "asleep" screen, gestures to launch apps, memory management and features with a switched off screen.
The handset weighs 155 grams and measures 151.80 x 75.40 x 6.95mm.
