Latest news and rumors about "The Expendables 4" revealed that the cast and crew of the movie would have over $100 million in budget to play around.
According to Movie News Guide, multiple reports have pointed to over $100 million in budget for "Expendables 4."
"There has been a tradition of the franchise to add popular action stars for every installment," it said. "There was a big hype in the media when Stallone urged Bollywood star Salman Khan and 'Hollywood Walk of Fame' star owner Jackie Chan to play vital roles."
But Salmah Khan and Jackie Chan rebuffed the offer to join the "Expendables 4" cast as the Chinese superstar claimed that he doesn't want to play a minor role.
Since it exploded on screen in 2010, the franchise has released another installment every couple of years, but the release date of "Expendables 4" movie might be delayed because of casting changes.
According to a news from Variety, the "Expendables 4" movie already secured a China pre-sale date and the cast will start production next year.
"Neither director nor cast have yet been announced, though the picture is expected to have maintain its all-action star formula. It is to be produced on a budget of over $100 million," it said.
The article continued, "The 'Expendables' franchise films have proved some of the most successful independent pictures in the Chinese market. "Expendables 3" grossed $39.2 million in North America where it was handled by Lions Gate Films, but $78 million in China."
Previously, Hulk Hogan has confirmed that he's joining the cast as the villain for "Expendables 4." Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, meanwhile, said that he would be willing to play the major baddie in the fourth installment if Sylvester Stallone were to ask him.
