Lance Stephenson, whose stock rise during the epic 2013 playoff match between the Indiana Pacers and the Cleveland Cavaliers, is languishing in his new role for the Los Angeles Clippers. Now the unpredictable player has found himself in the middle of the NBA trade rumors this 2015.
Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports claimed that the Los Angeles Clippers have been sending feelers for both Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith to any taker.
"Stephenson can be traded now while Smith is not eligible to be dealt until Dec. 15 after signing as a free agent in the offseason," he wrote. "Two NBA executives told Yahoo Sports that the Clippers would have hard time trading the struggling newcomers who have not fit in well during the team's slow start."
Apparently, not many teams are interested in both unpredictable players who can't seem to reach their potentials in Josh Smith and Lance Stephenson.
"There is not much of a market for them," Marc Spears quoted on NBA exec as saying. "They are buyout candidates. Maybe Lance goes back to Indiana, you never know. You won't get back much for them."
That's the reason why Lance Stephenson, Josh Smith and even Jamal Crawford will be included in most NBA trade rumors this 2015, or at least the deadline passes in February of next year. Jamal Crawford, the former sixth man of the year, was rumored to be headed to the Miami Heat for Gerald Green.
"They are talented, but when you add people like that it does affect the chemistry of their team. I don't think they will be traded. It's a tough thing to do because they didn't have a lot of takers beforehand," another said of Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith, who are widely perceived as cancers to the locker room.
