An 8-year-old burn victim named Safyre Terry has a simple and innocent wish this Christmas and only Katy Perry can make it come true.

Safyre was only five years old when her family's apartment was burned down in 2013 by her mother's ex-boyfriend, killing both her parents and her other three siblings, according to an article from Today.

She, however, survived the tragedy but was left with scars after 75 percent of her body was severely burned. Safyre Terry underwent several surgeries to transplant skin over her burns and stayed in hospitals for over eight months. In addition to being badly burned, the child also now lives without a right hand and left foot.

Having lost her entire family to the tragedy, she now lives with her aunt and legal guardian, Liz Dodler, in New York.

Earlier this month, Liz bought a Christmas card holder as an early present for Safyre, which the child resolved to fill with cards during the Holidays. Liz then took a photo of Safyre with the card holder beside her and posted it on Facebook.

The photo then went viral after a supporter of the family shared the picture on Facebook bearing the caption, "I wonder how many of my friends would take the time to write and send Safyre a Merry Christmas card that she can hang on her card tree..." along with the family's address.

Since then, Safyre has received quite a number of cards from people all throughout the country, including popular personalities like Hulk Hogan and Yolanda Foster. This cards she received has made the child extremely delighted.

"She's even had a few emailed from Italy, Sweden, Russia and the United Kingdom," Liz told Today. "When she opens these cards, the twinkle in her eye and the sparkle in her smile are priceless."

Meanwhile, as reported by TMZ, Safyre is said to be a huge Katy Perry fan. In fact, the burn victim even sang "Roar" during a presentation at her school talent show.

According to her aunt Liz, Safyre's simple wish is to receive a Christmas card from Katy Perry which the burn victim will gladly put at a special spot on her Christmas card holder.

"Safyre lost everything - her father, her mother, her sister, her brothers, her home, her favorite toy, her favorite outfit - everything that was familiar to her," Liz told Today.

"She even lost the one thing we all take for granted - her reflection. But she wakes every morning with a smile on her face. She is the true definition of hope, faith and love," she added.
