Hacker collective Anonymous declared war against Republican front-runner Donald Trump following the billionaire's comments about Muslims in the United States.
In a video released Wednesday, a spokesperson from the hacktivist group Anonymous slammed Donald Trump on his recent radical proposal of completely banning Muslims from entering the American borders. The group pointed out that the Republican candidate's comments would not work against the ISIS propaganda but instead aid the militant group in brainwashing new recruits, according to a report by The Independent.
"Donald Trump, it has come to our attention that you want to ban all Muslims to enter the United States," a man in a Guy Fawkes mask said in the video. "This policy is going to have a huge impact. This is what ISIS wants. The more Muslims feel sad, the more ISIS feels that they can recruit them."
"Donald Trump, think twice before you speak anything," the spokesperson continued. "You have been warned."
Anonymous' declaration of war against Donald Trump came after the hacker group resolved to carry out a "total cyber war" against ISIS in the wake of the series of terror attacks in Paris last month.
Following the terror attacks, Donald Trump called on the total ban of Muslim refugees from entering the US.
"Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred [against America] is beyond comprehension," Trump said in the statement, as reported by Yahoo! News.
He continued, "Where this hatred comes from and why, we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life."
According to International Business Times, Anonymous has started carrying out an attack against Trump's website as part of the group's #OpTrump campaign. The group is said to have attacked the trumptowerny.com site with DDoS on Wednesday night.
The surge of traffic getting into the site has caused it to almost shut down, according to a Twitter post by an Anonymous affiliated account.
Anonymous has also just recently executed an attack against ISIS last Dec. 11, declaring the day "ISIS Trolling Day" where they asked the public to mock the Islamic militant group by posting videos and photos on social media and around their neighborhood, aimed to ridicule ISIS.
