As Kobe Bryant continues on his farewell tour, the feuds and disagreements along the way are also being patched up.
That's just what happened when the Los Angeles Lakers met the Houston Rockets over the weekend, when after the drubbing on the hapless purple and gold for a score of 126-97, Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard actually hugged.
The feud between Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard was well-chronicled, as their two contrasting personalities clashed. In the last meeting between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets, the two even fought and the superstar guard, who is on a farewell tour this season, was even seen mouthing "soft" towards the 6-10 center.
In an interview with the press, Kobe Bryant said that there's never a feud to begin with.
"Listen, I'm a competitive person, and I don't really take much crap on the court," he said. "I'm always going to be confrontational. Even with my friends, I'm going to be that way. But you can also move on. It's not personal. You've got to let that stuff go."
Dwight Howard, for his part, said that Kobe Bryant's alleged feud was overblown.
"I think everybody made it seem like we just hated each other," he said. "There's no need for us to hate each other. This is his last season -- congratulate him on that -- and I basically wanted to see if he wanted to get more 3s up. He had shot a couple."
"That's what I was talking about at halftime with him. He's one of the greatest players to ever play the game, he's getting recognized in every city that he plays in for his accomplishments on the floor, and I think all of us want to have that kind of reception when we're about to finish our career," Dwight Howard added.
Kobe Bryant's farewell tour, meanwhile, might end up on a sour note as the hapless Los Angeles Lakers just couldn't string together a few wins and remain near the bottom of the standings at 3-21, and only the Philadelphia 76ers had a worst record at 1-24.
