Season 3 of "Rick and Morty will go back to an old animation created by Justin Roiland back in 2012, but was never picked up by Cartoon Network.
Movie Pilot dished some updates on "Rick and Morty" season 3 as it said that some Easter eggs were inserted by Roiland back in episode 2 of the pilot season for the series, titled "Lawnmower Dog."
"Dog World is the story of the affable Peter Michaels, his ill mannered brother Edmund and their innocent if unknowing younger sister Sally," it said. "During a camping trip the three are sucked through a wormhole and end up in a world populated by talking anamorphic dog people who keep animal-like humans as pets."
The name of the dog was Snuffles, which was later changed to Snowball, while the pet human was called Ruffles.
"Towards the beginning of the episode Rick accidentally calls Snuffles Ruffles when putting the helmet on his head and teaching him to shake, a callback to Dog World," it added.
To date, however, there's no update yet on the release date for season 3 of "Rick and Morty."
The report from iDigital Times claimed that the third installment of the series might not be coming out until 2017.
The article said, "While it seemed reasonable to imagine Rick and Morty would settle into a yearly season premiere date, landing Rick and Morty Season 3 in July of 2016, Mr. Poopybutthole killed that little dream, 'Tune into Rick and Morty Season 3 in like... a year and a half... or longer, to see how we unravel this mess. Ooh-whee.'"
Also, the rumors about season 3 having 19 episodes are apparently not true as Justin Roiland, himself, tweeted, "No idea who started the 19 episodes thing. Misinformation turning into news. Gotta love the Internet!"
Tune in for more updates on "Rick and Morty" season 3 which will be published here when they come along.
