Melissa McCarthy's astounding weight loss is clearly evident in the recent Seven7 holiday campaign, which came on the heels of the cancellation of "Mike and Molly" sitcom.
"In the festive pics - shot by famed photog Brian Bowen Smith - the Oscar-nominated actress, 45, is decked from head-to-toe in seasonal looks from her eponymous label!" said In Touch Weekly. "The holiday collection, her second installment of the line, will be available in a full-size run."
In an interview with More magazine, Melissa McCarthy talked about the weight loss pressure for women as a result of the body shaming culture in America, particularly shopping malls which segregate plus-size women.
"People don't stop at size 12. I feel like there's a big thing missing where you can't dress to your mood above a certain number," she said. "It's an odd thing that you can't go shopping with your friends because your store is upstairs hidden by the tire section. We'll put you gals over there because we don't want to see you and you probably don't want to be seen."
Previously, Melissa McCarthy attributed her weight loss to a low-carb and high protein diet, said MSN.
Quoting Star magazine, the website said that the "Tammy" star has "been making small changes and seeing big results. It's given her a real confidence boost."
However, the comedian wasn't too keen about losing too much weight since she wants to keep her curves.
''Melissa knows that fans love her big and beautiful, and she's not obsessed with dieting. She's looking for a happy medium," the source told Star.
Meanwhile, her weight loss victory was marred by the news that Mike and Molly" was cancelled. In her Twitter, Melissa McCarthy wrote, "I was shocked and heartbroken when @CBS canceled #MikeAndMolly. I would have shot this show for 50 more years. I'll miss my 2nd family."
Melissa McCarthy is right to be shocked because "Mike and Molly" gave the comedian an Emmy trophy.
