"Kate Plus 8" received underwhelming ratings, which some speculate could be because of how Kate Gosselin is not very likable in her show's new season.

According to a report from TV by the Numbers, the TLC reality series only gathered 955,000 viewers on its Dec. 8 season premiere.

The Wrap also reported that "Kate Plus 8" ratings was lower by close to 1 million viewers compared to the 1.8 million people who tuned in to its previous season premiere in January 2015.

Insiders explained to Radar Online the possible reason behind the disappointing "Kate Plus 8" ratings.

"It's the same old story," an insider pointed out.

"The past is played out and there are too many other things going on in the world."

The latest season will supposedly reveal details of Kate Gosselin's dating life. However, the insider admitted that not a lot of viewers are interested in the mother-of-eight's love life after divorcing from Jon Gosselin in 2009.

"She's just not very likeable," the source said about Kate Gosselin.

Just recently, TMZ was able to corner the single mom about what she wants from a man if she starts dating again.

Kate Gosselin replied that her new beau simply needs to get along with all her eight kids: 15-year old twins Mady and Cara and 11-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.

"They just have to be able to withstand eight kids, really," Kate Gosselin said.

"All I need is for someone to say, 'Did you hear what your mother just said?'"

"That's really all I need and I'd be good," she added.

E! Online also recently reported about Kate Gosselin's dating requirements.

"Right off the bat, [he needs to be] somebody who can withstand the chaos and the noise in my house," she specified.

"I've sent babysitters running and screaming, pulling their hair out."

"A lot of people just can't withstand all the movement in our house," she exasperated.
