Microsoft is rumored to be working on a new LTE-enabled budget smartphone, the Lumia 650. Microsoft Lumia 650 image leaks give the tech world an idea of how it would look like, suggesting that it will have a front speaker and is a dual-SIM handset.
A Snapdragon 410 System on Chip will power the handset with other components in its internals - 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. While its predecessor, the Lumia 550 has a 4.7-inch 720p screen, the Lumia 650 is said to sport a 5-inch 720p display.
With regard to the launch date, there are no hints. Windows Central said Microsoft may have the Mobile World Congress in February as the launch venue of Lumia 650.
According to NPU, earlier Microsoft Lumia 650 leaks revealed a handset in black. Recently, a new image shows the upcoming Microsoft phone in white which is similar to the black model but this one makes the "metallic frame" design clearer.
TechSpot commented that affordable and mid-range Windows Phones have not been amazing and Microsoft seems to go on with that trend, setting the successor of Lumia 550 as a new entry-level handset.
Microsoft Lumia 650 leaks were found via Teiba, and what were found is an "uninteresting" design which is typical of Lumia handsets. It will likely come with the new Windows 10 on board. The simple image of the front of the device does not reveal much.
With its non-revolutionary specs and internals that are not new in the budget segment, Microsoft will face a stiff competition against other budget phones like Asus Zenfone 2 and Motorola Moto G 2015.
Compared to its successor, it will come with a larger screen and a more powerful chipset. Other than that, there are no particular amazing specs found in Lumia 650.
The handset is reportedly under internal testing in India and may be released in the next quarter as an affordable 4G Lumia.
