Apple's latest 9.7-inch iPad Air 3 is reportedly getting a March 2016 release date, and although the gadget promises to be packed with features, it won't feature 3D Touch technology.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo confirmed as much as he explained that 3D Touch is "one of the most severe production bottlenecks in iPhone 6s supply chain."
"On the iPhone front, Kuo predicts that the iPhone 7 will maintain the same technical architecture introduced in the iPhone 6s vis-a-vis 3D Touch. The company is expected to continue its traditional fall rollout schedule for the world's most popular smartphone, meaning a likely September debut," said Apple Insider.
Apple unveiled 3D Touch technology on its iPhone 6s, and the feature was lapped up by its satisfied consumers.
"The pressure sensitive layer, coupled with a network of sensors behind the 6s' slightly pliable glass, is able to measure the distance between the glass and the LCD beneath with pinpoint accuracy," reported Alphr.
"That means it can not only sense that you're pressing the screen, but also how hard you're applying pressure."
According to iPad Air 3 Update, the latest Apple gadget will feature a more powerful processor, A9 or A9X, which is billed to be lighter and smaller compared to its predecessor despite being supported by as much as 4GB RAM.
"The screen resolution of this gadget is also expected to be better than its predecessor i.e. with a screen resolution of 2334 x 3112 pixels which will have 401 pixels in every inch," it said.
The next-gen iPad Air is reported to be 6.1mm thick along with a 13MP rear camera. Fans will have to wait for the official release in March 2016, however, to get a full range of the specs and features of the Apple device.
Watch out for more specs and features that might be released ahead of the iPad Air 3 release in March 2016.
