The first UK astronaut aboard the International Space Station, Major Tim Peake, 43, said his first three days in space are better than he imagined. He arrived at the ISS on Dec. 15 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan via a Soyuz rocket with U.S. Astronaut Tim Kopra and Russian Commander Yuri Malenchenko. The three of them will spend six months in ISS, reported BBC.
His earlier tweets stated he was "loving every minute" of it, saying in a live link-up with Germany's European Astronaut Centre in Cologne that life in space "was absolutely spectacular". He said during a live conference and said he would perfect his somersault.
Now in the International Space Station, Tim Peake said his first two days in space are "busy but incredible." He is one of the six crew members now living and working in the space station. On Station Commander Scott Kelly, Peake said: "What makes a good leader? Having a hot bacon sarnie waiting as my 1st meal on ISS. Boy that tasted good!"
Peake, a former helicopter test pilot and Army aviator received messages from the Queen and Elton John after his arrival at the ISS. Peak responded to the Buckingham Palace's twitter account post of good luck letter from the Queen, and tweeted Elton John's famous song "Rocket Man."
Aboard the International Space Station, Tim Peak has a number of tasks to accomplish, said the European Space Agency. This includes unpacking cargo and is part of the experiment that looks at the effects of microgravity on the bone marrow.
Peake made his entrance to the space station with a huge grin as the entire crew of six gathered before the camera to listen to the congratulatory messages from their family members and experts of space travel watching in Baikonur's ESA, said Belfast Telegraph.
The International Space Station first timer Major Tim Peake was likewise the first one to "step" on the station and said their journey was a beautiful launch. "That sunrise was absolutely spectacular. We also got the benefit of a moon rise which was beautiful to see. To Europe and the UK, I hope you enjoyed the show."
