Tickets For Adele’s North American Tour Sold Out In Minutes! Spurned Fans Direct Anger At Ticketmaster

The planned North American tour by Adele to promote "25" is off to a good start, so good in fact that thousands of fans could not even purchase tickets just minutes after Ticketmaster opened its website for orders.

Billboard reported that tickets for Adele's 50 shows for her North American tour to promote "25" went up at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

"Unlike Adele's recorded content in 25, tickets are a limited resource, and the pandemonium around the artist's on-sale is simply a matter of supply and demand," the article said. "Adele has announced 50 arena shows in the U.S., which means a total inventory of roughly 750,000 tickets. Adele may sell that many copies of 25 the week ending Dec. 17, its fourth week on sale, and could sell nearly six million in its first month."

Pete Blackburn took to Twitter to express his frustration after failing to secure tickets to Adele's North American tour. He wrote, "Attempting to buy Adele tickets is more depressing than an Adele song."

Cara Nader added, "In queue for Adele pre-sale tickets is probably the most stressful experience ever. Someone give me a Xanax and a shot of tequila."

Alex Frketic chimed in, "Currently fighting with the rest of the country over these Adele presale tickets."

And Sara Froseph quipped, "The line to get into hell moves quicker than an adele presale queue..."

Billboard said that Ticketmaster could hardly be faulted when tickets for Adele's North American tour for "25" are sold out within minutes after opening the online counters.

"One insider tells Billboard that in New York, where six shows went up at once, four million people were in the virtual queue at on-sale, and Ticketmaster still sold out all six shows in less than an hour," it said. "The systems were deluged by some of the heaviest traffic Ticketmaster has ever seen, and sold out its roughly 40 shows in under an hour, some in under 30 minutes."
