Vampires have taken on a few professions in k-dramas during the last year. They have been night-wandering scholars, kingmakers, doctors, high school students and prosecutors. Lee Jun Ki, Lee Soo Hyuk, Ahn Jae Hyun, Seolhyun and Yun Jung Hoon are just a few of the actors who were vampires and still had more to do than bite their victims.
Now the k-drama undead will also be able to add detective to their list of k-drama professions. The new OCN drama "Vampire Detective" will star Lee Joon, Lee Chung Ah, Jo Bok Rae, Oh Jung Se and Lee Se Young.
Lee Joon plays the detective Yoon San. He's good at solving cases and with each case finds out more about himself. Becoming a detective was a career decision he made before turning into a vampire. Yoon San was a policeman who suffered an accident and then set up his own detective agency. In the process of solving a case he was turned into a vampire. But he won't let himself become a monster.
Oh Jung Se is his detective partner and he remains loyal to Yoon San even after his scary transformation.
Lee Se Young plays Han Gyeo Wool, a beautiful former con artist who works in their office.
Between them they have plenty of crime-solving talent.
Lee Chung Ah plays Yo Na, but it is not yet certain what role Yo Na will play. She could be the woman that Lee Joon loves or she could be a minor character involved in a crime. While this is primarily a detective series, a vampire story is best with a little angst over the impossibility of love between vampires and humans.
Lee Joon was last seen in the highly praised drama "Heard It Through The Grapevine." Oh Jung Se appeared in "The Lover" and did a cameo as a famous director in "Sweet Savage Family." Lee Se Young was last seen in "Nine Plus Boys." Lee Chung Ah was last seen in the drama "Riders Catch Tomorrow" and is best known for her role in "Flower Boy Ramen Shop."
The drama is being produced by Lee Seung Hoon, who did both seasons of "Vampire Prosecutor."
