Choi Ji Woo says she is having a good time acting and is in no rush to get married. At 41 she has mixed feelings about the idea of marriage.
"I don't want to rush or be forced into it," she said in a recent interview with the Korean Yonhap News Agency. "It would be a pity to live my life in a rush when everything else is going so well."
She admits that she used to have idealistic notions, a fantasy about marriage, but no more.
"I used to have one in my twenties and thirties," she said. "I had a huge fantasy about marriage but I'm too old for that now."
Choi first became famous when she appeared in the 2002 drama "Winter Sonata," one of the dramas credited with starting the Hallyu. She co-starred in that popular romantic melodrama with Bae Yong Joon.
Her most recent drama was "Twenty Again," which she co-starred in with Lee Sang Yoon. In that drama she played a stifled woman who finally returns to college after raising her child.
She can also be seen in the ensemble cast comedy "LIke for Likes." It's a film about the romantic aspects of social media. Choi plays a stewardess who falls for her tenant, a chef played by Kim Ju Hyuk.
The actress was recently involved in dating rumors with actor Lee Seo Jin, which she denied. In an article in the Korean media outlet Korea Times, she answered a question about their relationship by saying, "Does co-stars mean dating partners after all?"
Choi and Lee co-starred in the variety show "Grandpas Over Flowers." In the program they accompanied four older actors on a trip. They were so nice to each other that the program's director would tease and ask when they planned to get married. If she had to change her ways, Choi Ji Woo once joked on the show, it was not for her.
Sometimes co-stars does mean dating partners. Choi dated her "Air City" co-star Lee Jin Wook from 2009 to 2011.
