Former EXO member, Kris Wu (Wu Yi Fan) has been cast in the Hollywood action flick, "XxX3: The Return of Xander Cage."
On February 6, "XxX3" director, D.J. Caruso delivered the casting announcement through an enthusiastic Twitter post, which also included the addition of 22-year-old actress Hermione Corfield (Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies).
While the role of the K-pop idol-turned-actor has yet to be revealed, he will appear alongside acclaimed stars Vin Diesel (Fast & The Furious), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), and Chinese wushu phenom, Jet Li (The Expendables).
"XxX3" marks the ninth film role for the star since his departure from EXO in May 2014.
He debuted as the male lead in the 2015 romantic melodrama, "Somewhere Only We Know," followed by his turn as Xiao Fei in the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival special selection, "Mr. Six."
The 25-year-old Canadian-Chinese star has experienced increased positive attention in 2016.
In January, he was the focus of two features articles from the venerated fashion magazine, Vogue, following his runway debut at the 2016 Fall Burberry menswear show.
"With Milan menswear on the horizon and Wu certain to make the rounds, we have a feeling that his personal style will make him one to watch in the coming weeks ahead-on the runway and off," said Vogue columnist, Janelle Okwodu, in a glowing review of his runway stint.
On February 12, Wu will face-off against Hollywood celebrities as a member of a team led by Canadian hip-hop vocalist, Drake, at the NBA All-Star Game.
The friendly basketball game will be held at Toronto's Ricoch Coliseum and will be broadcast on ESPN.
According to iMDb, "XxX3" will hit theaters in 2017.
