Seo In Guk, the singer and actor who recently starred in "The Master's Sun" and who also appeared in "Love Rain" recently spoke to Kiyori Matsumoto, a Kpopstarz reporter in Japan. He discussed his new Japanese album and musical/drama experiences.
Here are a few excerpts from that interview.
Q: Please talk a little about the three songs included in your second Japanese single album this time.
A: Seo In Guk: As you can guess by listening to "We Can Dance Tonight," it is an extremely fast-paced song with a powerful beat. So as I was recording it, I thought it would make for a fun live concert with fans once I sing this song on stage. "My Voice" has very distinct melodies. This medium-tempo song has melodies that I truly love. I am fond of songs with such feelings, which I wish to convey to fans as well. "Best Friend" allows you to feel as if you are talking with your friend, so by singing it, you can receive strength.
Q: In the lyrics of "My Voice," you sing the words "your eyes are still telling a lie," as if you can see through the lying eyes of a girlfriend. Are you the type of person who can recognize when someone lies?
A: Hahaha, I cannot tell at all!
Q: Do you have songs from movies or TV dramas that impressed you?
A: It's an OST from a drama. In "Sorry, I Love You" (2004), Park Hyoshin sang Miki Nakajima's "Yuki no Hana" (Snowdrop) - this song is very impressive to me. I think music is very important in movies and dramas.
Q: By the way, if someone invites you to Karaoke right now, what is the first song you want to sing?
A: Hmm... right now? Well, "Hee Jae" by my senior Sung Sikeung. This is the theme title for the movie "The Scent Of Love" (2003). When I watched this movie as a child, I thought it was very sad as I listened to the song. But I love it even now.
Q: Lastly, please promote the soon-to-be released Korean movie "No Breathing" in which you star.
A: The movie "No Breathing" is a very exciting one. It is a sports movie, but it also includes stories of some youthful drama. At the same time, there is this tension that's specific to sports-themed movies. The role I play is a very lovely character. I hope many people can watch it.
