Shazam Apps Allow X Factor USA Fans Vote for Favorite Acts; Voting Begins on Nov. 6 (Photo/Video)

Millions of devoted fans can now take part in the discovery of a new star on “The X Factor USA,” with new voting application called, “Shazam apps.” The Fox reality show is set to introduce the new voting mechanism, deemed as “in a global first.”

For the first time in the history of voting for any reality singing competition, the Super vote experience will begin on Nov.6.

After the live performance of “The X Factor USA” Top Final 16, the show’s “Super vote” experience will be made available to the fans through the newly introduced, Shazam apps.

The new voting application is still pending but officials of the reality show that it will be put in place on the first week of November, week 9 of “X Factor USA.”

"The X Factor" is that perfect marriage of music and television that Shazam users love. We are thrilled to work with Fox, Syco and Fremantle in this first-of-its-kind chance for THE X FACTOR fans to use the Shazam App to vote for their favorite acts,” Shazam CEO Rich Riley confirmed in a statement, according to Music Week.

It should be noted however, that voting is not the only mechanism offered by Shazam apps.

Fans and viewers may be able to buy the song performed not only by the contestants who performed on a particular episode. The apps also allow the audience to purchase the song performed by recording artists who performed on the show.

Meanwhile, aside from Shazam apps, viewers can also cast their votes through their Facebook accounts, toll-free phone calls and text messages.

The top sixteen finalists of “The X Factor USA” show will begin live performances on Wed, Oct. 30.
