Actor Jang Ki Yong shared his goals as an actor as well as his upcoming film "Bad Guys: The Movie" during a new interview.
He said that he is a long-time fan of Kim Sang Joong, Ma Dong Suk, Kim Ah Joong. He liked them more after experiencing working with them. He said that Ma Dong Suk helped him perform better in action scenes. Jang Ki Yong said, "Whenever I was practicing action on set, Ma Dong Suk would come and give me advice, and my heart would flutter. He was really busy himself, but he would take time to take care of me, and I was so thankful."
He said that Ma Dong Suk's great acting performance in Korea and abroad is so impressive. He is looking forward to having the same opportunities in the future because he worked so hard.
When asked what the difference of film from drama is, Jang Ki Yong said, "The drama has more of a deep, dark, and intense feeling, while the movie is more entertainment and fun. I'm personally a fan of the noir image, so it took some getting used to, but after seeing the final product, I could see the appeal."
Jang Ki Yong said he wants to hear positive feedback about his acting. He said that these compliments are my strengths to face new challenges and dream bigger. He said that he is more excited nowadays and doesn't feel pressure anymore. He wanted to grow and mature by showing his different sides. He wanted to take one step at a time. He said that he doesn't want to take a break and rather be on set. He feels worried about his performance when he is not doing anything.
He said that there are many things he would like to do in the future. He said he loves action and noir. He wants to try other things like happy roles, historical dramas, or musical movies. He wanted to master every movie genre.
Jang Ki Yong said, "My dream is to hear someone say, 'This is something that only Jang Ki Yong can do.' I want to become an irreplaceable actor. To do that, I need people to be able to put unwavering trust in me. I plan to start building up to that little by little."
