On November 17, in honor of all the martyrs who died for the liberation of the Korean Peninsula from foreign invaders, Song Hye-Kyo and Professor Seo Kyung-Deok of Sungshin Women's University donated 10,000 copies of Korean-English Guidebooks at the Dohsan Ahn Chang Ho Family House in Los Angeles.
The donations were posted by Prof. Seo Kyung-Deok on Instagram with the caption, "Today is the Patriotic Martyrs Day, it was established to celebrate the spirit of independence and to commemorate all the sacrifices the people of Korea has done to free our nation. To honor this day, Song Hye-kyo and I have given 10,000 additional Korean-English guidebooks at the Dohsan Ahn Chang Ho Family House in Los Angeles."
"We also recently talked about donating guidebooks to all independence movement sites globally. It will take a long time, but we are determined for this cause. Even if it'll take us 10 years, we will surely do it. We are hoping for your cooperation and support in the future. Thank you so much," he added.
The Dohsan Ahn Chang Ho Family House was built in the United States in 1914. The family's home was a gathering place for independence activists. It is currently used by the University of Southern California's Institute of Korean Studies.
