Michigan Double Tragedy: Eastpointe Family Holds Online Fundraising to Cover Funeral Expenses (Photo)

Members of the Eastpointe family involving in Michigan double tragedy have held a fundraising project to cover the expenses of the double funeral of two siblings who died on the same day after a tragic incident that struck the Tucker family.

The younger brother, Ricky got killed in a car accident as he was rushing to check on his elder sister, Brenda who was announced dead at the hospital after killing herself with a gun.

Rose Tucker, the mother of the two children who died one hour after another early Sunday, Oct. 28 shared her grief in a recent interview after the family tragedy.

“I just wanted to run away,” Rose Tucker was quoted as telling the Macomb Daily by CBS Detroit. “I lost my heart and my soul right there, in the hospital.”

With Brenda and Ricky now dead, Rose is left with one child, identified by CBS Detroit as Amandajo Holman. The older daughter expressed gratitude to humanitarians who sent donations for the funeral expenses.

Holman noted that she still cannot believe losing her two siblings and thanked the people who sent help for them.

“I didn’t think my heart would be able to feel after losing my brother and my sister,” CBS Detroit said, citing a report by WWJ.

Holman added, “And the fact that we have raised almost $1,200 so far just, within the past two days, I can’t thank these people enough.”

The grieving mom was told that she lost his son, Ricky, 20 when she was identifying her daughter, Brenda, 21 who was pronounced dead at the hospital after grabbing a gun and shot herself at the back of the family-owned bar in Eastpointe, Detroit, Michigan.

The younger Tucker was killed in a car accident on his way to the hospital. Detroit Police spokesman, Kelly Miner described the incident that took the life of the 20-year old brother. Ricky crashed into an SUV as he was crossing the center line of E. Warren near Woodhall.

“Our preliminary findings show that it was, it’s just a tragedy all the way around,” Miner said, according to CBS Detroit.

The family hopes to raise $15,000 to cover the funeral expenses. The online fundraising can be found on this link. A visit at the website, youcaring.com showed that the Tucker family has already raised approximately $5,000. The website indicated that donations for “Ricky and Brenda Memorial” is open for another 27 days. The online project was organized by Wesley and Amandajo Holman, with Rose Tucker as the beneficiary.

The website reads: “Help with funeral cost and service for brother and sister, Brenda and Ricky Tucker whom died on the same night just an hour apart in separate but related tragic events on October 26th 2013.”
