We know that Simon Cowell has been very sensitive about “The X Factor USA”s rival, NBC’s “The Voice” and to be in direct competition to the reality would spell what Fox officials may have been dreading for - - to lose in the head to head battle in terms of ratings.

Last week’s episode featuring the fourth live show of the “X Factor USA” and the first live performances of the Top Final 16 recorded more than fifty percent lower than the figures raked in by “The Voice.”

According to Mstars News, “The X Factor USA” recorded barely 4.11 million viewers with a 1.5 rating in the adults group, between 18-49 demographic.

The Fox’s show was forced to go head to head with the NBC’s “The Voice” because of the baseball coverage last week.

The “X Factor USA” has its regular schedule Wednesdays and Thursdays. But because of the 2013 World Series between St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox, the Fox officials was forced to air the fourth live performances of the reality singing competition last Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The schedule was a direct hit to “The X Factor USA” because “The Voice” regularly airs Tuesdays. The MLB schedule resulted in direct competition between the rival shows. “The X Factor USA” aired from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. while “The Voice” aired from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. The new rare schedule revamp saw the two shows overlapping from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it proved a victory for “The Voice.”

As the two shows overlapped for one hour, “The X Factor” recorded its all time low for the season and the series since it began in 2011.

The overlap may have shown triumph for “The Voice” with its figures recorded at 11.5 million viewers and 3.5 ratings. But the direct competition on the same day also resulted in 15 percent drop for “The Voice” and its own audience share.

The low ratings have increased the buzz for Simon Cowell to leave “The X Factor USA” and his possible return to the show’s UK edition. As earlier reported by KDrama Stars, the Fox officials are considering ditching Simon Cowell as a judge to reduce production costs.
