The movie industry is greatly affected because of the pandemic. Ticket sales are decreasing, and the number of movie-goers keeps on dropping. Further, even filming, those of which were mainly shot overseas, have been scrapped.

The upcoming film "Bogota," starred by Song Joong Ki, was prompted to stop filming way back in March. The film production in Colombia ceased due to the coronavirus. The cast and crew returned to Korea late March and underwent two weeks of quarantine. Unsure of when the filming will resume, the production team announced that the filming is delayed until next year.

The production just declared that the filming in Colombia, which was supposed to be this summer since the epicenter of the pandemic is now in South America, will resume next year.

The team stated that the pandemic in South America and Colombia isn't doing well. Hence they were in talks to resume the shooting for the movie this upcoming summer. However, Colombia is still not doing alright, so the team opted to reschedule once again. Plans were even made to resume in the fall, yet they have to cancel since it remains uncertain.

Holding onto the indefinite schedules of the actor is unreasonable, the production team said. With all the uncertainties, the team assured the fans that they will continue filming next year.

The production team said, "After a long discussion, we decided to postpone. We already finished about 45% of the filming. We will not be canceling the project in its entirety. We will resume next year for sure and release it for the audience."

They are almost 50 percent done, and they surely cannot cancel the film. A lot of time and money have been invested in the movie; this will not just waste.

"Bogota" is a crime thriller film about young men in their thirties who left Korea and immigrated to Colombia in the 1990s. They settled in the market of Bogota, which is the capital city of Colombia.

The cast and crew began back in January, which is more than two months of shooting the film. This blockbuster will have ninety percent of its scenes in Colombia and will have little to none in Korea.

Kim Sung-Je will helm the film "Bogota." He is known for his debut film "The Unfair" in 2015, starred by Yoon Kye Sang, Yoo Hae Jin, and Kim Ok Vin, and Lee Hee Jun has been cast alongside Song Joong Ki.

Lee appeared in various movies, such as "Dear Dolphin," Bong Joon Ho's Haemoo, and recently, "The Man Standing Next."

This highly anticipated blockbuster film, "Bogota," is undoubtedly worth the wait, especially for Song Joong Ki's fans.
