JTBC released its first poster for its upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama, "18 Again." This rom-com will be starred by Kim Ha Neul, Yoon Sang Hyun, and Lee Do Hyun!
The series will be based from an American film "17 Again," starred by Zac Efron. It will most likely be having the same plot as that of the American version. The husband and the wife are having troubles with their marital status and on the verge of getting a divorce. While struggling on their marriage, he magically finds himself in the body of his eighteen-year-old self. Surprised by what was happening in his life, he changed his name from Hong Dae Young to Go Woo Young.
If you happened to watch the American version, the wife noticed that the younger version of the husband looks exactly the same as he was when he was eighteen and would do romantic scenes for his wife, which makes the heart flutters. Then, the young father also helped boost his son's confidence as well as protected his daughter from the boyfriend. He just did things for the sake of his family and try to save his marriage as well.
For the Korean version, Yoon Sang Hyun will play the father as Hong Dae Young while the eighteen-year-old version will be played by Lee Do Hyun as Go Woo Young. Kim Ha Neul will play Jung Da Jung, a housewife where she later became an anchorwoman after raising their twins for 18 years.
Who knows what part of their marriage triggered that they end their marriage? Surely, there will be romantic scenes that will capture our hearts especially when the eighteen-year-old version will do his best to win back his wife's love.
The first poster is a photo of their wedding, as you can see the wife was wearing her wedding dress and the husband in a tuxedo looking glammed-up, also the torn part shows the younger version. They captioned the poster "The husband [I love and hate] has become 18 years old!"
Just by looking at the poster you can definitely say this is a romantic comedy not more on a love story and I think JTBC is very creative when it comes to making drama series having a rom-com setting.
The model turned actress Kim Ha-neul can eventually deliver the role as she has been nominated and have won several prestigious awards including the Best Actress Awawrd at the 48th Grand Bell Awards and the 32nd Blue Dragon Film Awards for her performance in the serial killer thriller Blind. She is best known for her roles in romantic-comedy films My Tutor Friend and Too Beautiful to Lie and the action-comedy film My Girlfriend Is an Agent.
Meanwhile, Yoon Sang Hyun is best known for his roles in Queen of Housewives (2009), My Fair Lady (2009), Secret Garden (2011) and I Can Hear Your Voice. He is happily married to his wife also a singer MayBee (Kim Eun-ji).
Lastly, Lee Do-hyun made his acting debut in the black comedy Prison Playbook aside from palying Zac Efron's counterpart in the upcoming "18 Again", he will also star in Netflix's Sweet Home.
