'Descendants of The Sun' Actress Song Hye Kyo Is Considering to Star in a New Drama

If Song Hye Kyo decides to accept this project, this will mark her comeback to the small screen in two years after concluding her last drama Encounter, where she starred alongside actor Park Bo Gum.

Meanwhile, some news outlets reported that actors Soo Ae, Yoo Tae Oh, and Yoon Jung Hee were offered to star in the said drama. However, Soo Ae and Yoo Tae Oh had to turn down the project offer. According to some reports, Soo Ae was unable to take the lead role due to scheduling issues.

Now, We Are Breaking Up is penned by Je In, who also did Misty and will be helmed by Director Lee Gil Bok, who also maneuvered the hit dramas My Love From the Star, Vagabond, and Dr. Romantic.

Song Hye Kyo started her career in the entertainment industry when she was still young. Since her debut in 1996, the actress has proven her skills in acting and modeling and has worked her way up into becoming one of the most famous names in showbiz.

In 2017, the actress got married to her Descendants of The Sun leading man, Song Joong Ki. After less than a year, however, the couple decided to part ways, and officially got divorced in July of 2019.

Nevertheless, fans are aware that Song Hye Kyo is one of South Korea's biggest stars as she received tons of endorsement and projects in the industry. No one will be surprised if someone says she is one of the highest-paid actresses in South Korea.

The actress is famous not only in South Korea but also overseas due to her leading roles in television dramas such as Autumn in My Heart (2000), All In (2003), Full House (2004), That Winter, The Wind Blows (2013), Descendants of The Sun (2016), and Encounter (2018). She also starred in films Hwang Jin Yi (2007), The Grandmaster (2013), My Brilliant Life (2014), and The Queens (2015).
