"Josée" lead stars, Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min, share their experiences working on the project.
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the upcoming film "Josée" held a press conference, and all its cast including the director was present. Each of the cast also shared their thoughts about the new movie.
The film is a remake of the Japanese movie "Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish," which is based on a novel of the same. The film's story centers on the beautiful events that happen after Josée and Young Suk cross paths. Actress Han Ji Min will portray the character of Josée, and her co-star Nam Joo Hyuk will play the role of Young Suk.
In the press conference, the actress shared her feelings after taking a break for two years. The actress stated that she feels anxious and excited about her comeback to the big screen, and can't wait for the viewers to see the film. She also added that it feels strange participating in an online press conference, and that she misses the good old days where everything was done live.
On the other hand, her handsome co-star Nam Joo Hyuk also shared his thoughts about the movie. He said tha the audience will definitely be able to see a new and different version of him through "Josée."
Director Kim Jong Gwan also expressed how he felt during filming. He said that he felt pressured to take on a remake because the original film and novel were excellent. He also added that despite the feeling of pressure, he decided to take on the project because he fell in love with the novel as soon as he read it. Also, the film's point of view on people and its deep sense of humanity warms his heart.
Han Ji Min then added that she also felt pressured as well. She also made sure to work hard during the taping so she could bring her own version of Josée to the Korean adaptation. Since her character is a person with a disability, she had to make certain preparations. She said that she kept a wheelchair in her home and tried to use it daily so she'd get used to it.
Then the actress discussed her reunion with actor Nam Joo Hyuk for this project. "It's really nice to work with him again. The getting to know stage is not that awkward and long since we already know each other." She went on to explain that since they've both worked together before, she was able to depend on him a lot during filming, and she deeply appreciates it.
The actor also thanked the actress for telling him everything about Josée. He revealed that Han Hi Min helped him learn and grow more as an actor.
Meanwhile, "Josée" is scheduled to premiere on December 10. For the meantime, you can check out Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min's previous drama titled "Radiant" on your favorite Korean streaming site!
