Previously, it has been rumored that there will be a Korean remake of "Money Heist" - and finally, it isn't a rumor anymore! A Korean Netflix representative finally confirmed that the remake will be happening!

"The House of Paper," popularly known as "Money Heist," is a Spanish crime series about a group of people who went on a heist on the Royal Mint of Spain, conducted by a man called the Professor. Netflix earned the global streaming rights in 2017 and since then, managed to air four seasons of the said drama. After it was released, "Money Heist" sparked a drama fever all over the world.

The popularity of the series proves that great works from different cultures and languages can be widely loved and appreciated by people from different parts of the world.

Meanwhile, it has been proven that the record for season four of "The House of Paper" that was aired this year in the month of April was selected by 65 million viewers (from Netflix) around the world for the first four weeks after it started streaming on Netflix.

For the Korean remake, the production is expected to grow and expand the vibrancy of the marvelous story of the original Netflix series. It is also to give the viewers all around the globe excitement and satisfaction.

The storyline for the Korean version is set to draw a process of genius strategists and robbers with different personalities and abilities to face astounding variables and will engage in unparalleled hostage robbery against the borders of the Korean Peninsula.

Alex Pina, the General Producer and creator of the world phenomenon series, shared, "Korea's content has been doing a great job in captivating viewers from around the world and across borders, through exceptional writing methods and culture representations through the years, just like "The House of Paper."

He added, "The fact that the settings of the story will unfold in the background of the Korean Peninsula is also a factor that excites me on how they will give a new blend from the original one."

The production for the said series will be led by Kim Hong Seo, he will be directing the drama. He is recognized as "Master of the Genre" for his works like OCN dramas "Hand the Guest," "Voice," and "Black." He was chosen to direct the upcoming remake which is said to consist of twelve episodes.

It will be written by writer Ryu Yong Jae, together with his team of writers who also penned Netflix original series "My Love, Alone" and the hit tvN drama "Psychopath Diary."

BH Entertainment will be in collaboration with Contents Zium for remake production. BH Entertainment is the home to the prominent actors Lee Byung Hun, Han Hyo Joo, Han Ji Min, Yoo Ji Tae, Kim Yong Ji, Park Bo Young, and Kim Go Eun. The company also participated in the co-production of the films "Single Rider" and "Miss Back," Korean hit series "Itaewon Class," "Confessions Couple," and "Number of Cases."

The title, casting, release schedule and more about the Korean remake of "Money Heist" is yet to be officially announced to the public.
