The series is about the love story between Princess Pyeonggang and On Dal, who is known as the characters in the classic Goguryeo folktale. Actress Kim So Hyun will be portraying Princess Pyeonggang or also known as Yeom Ga Jin. She is an enthusiastic woman who wants to pursue becoming the first female to lead the kingdom of Goguryeo. And to achieve her goal, the princess will use On Dal for her advantage.
Joining them during the script reading are actors Lee Ji Hoon, Kim Bup Rae, Lee Hae Young, Wang Bit Na, Han Jae Young, and more. Director Yoon Sang Ho was also present.
This will be a challenging role for Kim So Hyun, since she will be playing two characters - Princess Pyeonggang and fighter Yeom Ga Jin - who have different personalities and perspectives in life. Although it won't be the first time for the actress to play such role since she had already portrayed this complex-style of character playing in the drama "Who Are You: School 2015," wherein she was also applauded for her amazing performance.
In the upcoming historical drama of Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo, it is expected that the 21-year-old actress will skillfully change back and forth as the strong and cruel warrior Yeom Ga Jin and the smart Princess Pyeonggang.
On the other hand, Ji Soo will also be working with the actress once again after they already worked together in the drama "Page Turner" in 2016. In the upcoming drama, Ji Soo will be playing the role of On Dal, who was born with the blood of a general. His innocent and pure personality are said to be fit to Ji Soo's acting capability.
Meanwhile, Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo's great chemistry on the script reading of their upcoming historical drama caught the eyes of the viewers. As soon as they read the script and after exchanging lines, both actors instantly became their respective drama characters as they became immersed and entangled with one another.
Their unbelievable connection during the script reading was also recognized by their co-stars and other staff, so everyone is already anticipating how these two will portray their role as a couple on screen.
After the event, the drama production team expressed, "The read-through was filled with passion and high energy as if we were already filming on set. Hearing the actors exchanging lines, we could already see the image of Goguryeo from 1,500 years ago. Please look forward to watching 'River Where the Moon Rises' to see more amazing acting from our talented cast."
"River Where the Moon Rises" is scheduled to air in February. Make sure not to miss it!
