Park Eun Seok receives a lawsuit for allegedly spreading false rumors.
It was reported on January 29 that actor Park Eun Seok was sued for defamation and false rumors back on December 3, 2020. The complainant (referred to as "A") revealed the actor spread false information regarding him/her in a group chat that is also participated by many actors in the industry. "A" also shared that he/she has been distressed because of Park Eun Seol and that his/her family has also been threatened. "A" continues stating that the actor's response to recent animal hoarder allegations was so similar to his response to "A." The actor also claimed that he wasn't sued, but there certainly is a filing to the court now.
According to reports, Park Eun Seok shared A's name and contact to the group chat for his castmates back in July of 2017 saying they should avoid him. "A" claimed that he is Park Eun Seok's alum and a casting director and shared that they had an altercation over a play script. "A" then revealed that since the incident occurred, he has been receiving threats for no reason and eventually realized after going to the police that it was Park Eun Seok who spread the false and misleading rumors.
Park Eun Seok's agency replied to the issue
"A" also shared that he reached out to Park Eun Seok before filing a lawsuit against him, asking for a sincere apology. "A" expressed that if the actor continues to refuse to issue an apology and deny the allegation, though there is solid evidence, then he will be forced to take strict legal actions. Following this, the actor's agency contacted "A" and offered a settlement of KRW 5 million (approximately USD 4,500). However, the actor hasn't issued payments and has been avoiding payment for more than 5 months already.
Park Eun Seok's agency immediately issued their response to the said issue and stated that they have confirmed the filling and will give their response through their legal department.
