It was first started in 1963 by The Chosun Ilbo and was originally discontinued back in 1973, only 10 years after its inception. The Blue Dragon Film Awards only takes into account popular movies and blockbusters with high artistic value that was released in the previous year (which, in this case, is 2020). The panel for the awards ceremony selects around forty movies to make into finals, which are then screened to the public for free. After screening for each film is finished, the awards ceremony commences.
