Historical drama "River Where the Moon Rises" drops brand new still featuring the emotional encounter of Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo!

The ongoing KBS2 TV drama "River Where the Moon Rises" stars famous actors Kim So Hyun, Ji Soo, Lee Ji Hoon, and Choi Yu Hwa. It is a remake of the classic Goguryeo folktale where it retells the famous love story between two characters Princess Pyeonggang and On Dal.

Kim So Hyun stars as Pyeonggang, who was born a princess but raised as a warrior. She is a very ambitious woman who dreams of becoming the first woman to lead Goguryeo. She is determined to reach her goals and will stop at nothing to make her achieve her dreams. One day, her plans were disturbed when she meets On Dal, a peace-loving man whose only goal is to live a peaceful and harmonious life. On Dal is the exact opposite of the ambitious princess and will eventually find himself forsaking his principles in order to keep his love (Princess Pyeonggang) safe.

The Emotional Moment of Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo in Newly Released stills for "River Where the Moon Rises"

In the previous episode, Pyeonggang was able to regain her memories and recognized that she is a princess of Goguryeo. Near the end of the clip, we witnessed Pyeonggang being reunited with her father, King Pyeongwon (Kim Bup Rae). She secretly went into the room in the palace and met her father and emotionally asked him, "Why did you do that? Why did you abandon me?"

In the newly released stills for the upcoming episode, we get a glimpse of On Dal and Pyeonggang having an emotional encounter. Pyeonggang is letting out her sadness and disappointment and sheds tears in front of On Dal. He looks at her with mixed emotions as he sympathizes with her. He gets teary-eyed as well as he comes to her and holds her arm. Though he feels very sad, he still puts her first. Viewers are even more curious to discover what will happen next to On Dal and Pyeonggang.

The drama's production team shared their thoughts about the upcoming episode and stated that since Pyeonggang has already regained her memory, viewers can now expect big changes between the main leads. They are asking the viewers to please look forward to the change of fate between On Dal and Pyeonggang and how their relationship will be resolved as the story progress.

"River Where the Moon Rises" Still Take the Lead in Viewership Ratings

"River Where the Moon Rises" continues to stay ahead in viewership ratings after making a strong start in its first week! Based on the survey by Nielsen Korea, the February 22 episode of the drama garnered an average nationwide rating of 6.4 and 9.2 percent. This is the same as the average of the last episode's ratings of 5.8 and 9.7 percent.

The upcoming episode of "River Where the Moon Rises" will be broadcasted on February 23 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
