KBS in Discussion to Drop Ji Soo as the Main Actor in the Ongoing Drama 'River Where the Moon Rises'

In light of Ji Soo's current school bullying scandal, KBS has made their step and has reportedly made its decision to take out Ji Soo as the lead actor for their drama "River Where the Moon Rises". An exclusive report from a Korean news outlet shared the news that KBS is in the process of making the decision to drop Ji Soo as the main actor in the drama after a thorough discussion. If they decided to replace Ji Soo, a replacement actor would be required to re-shoot the remaining episodes and take over Ji Soo's character in the drama as On Dal.

According to reports, the drama's production team is still in the process of fixing other major details, such as who the replacement actor would be or whether the previously filmed cuts of Ji Soo will be aired. As of now, the scripts are completed up until episode 18 and Ji Soo is almost done (95% complete) with filming his parts in the drama.

In response to the news, KBS has stated that they will reveal their official position tomorrow on whether Ji Soo will be officially removed from the cast.

'River Where the Moon Rises' Cancels Filming in Light of Ji Soo's Current Scandal

On March 2, the online community was shocked when an article about actor Ji Soo surfaced claiming that he is a perpetrator of school violence. After the rumor spread online, Kim Ji Soo's agency KeyEast Entertainment, issued their brief response regarding the issue and stated that they are already investigating the allegations and currently confirming whether the accusations were true.

After the rumors of him being a school bully circulated, Ji Soo issues his response with a handwritten letter of apology. In the letter, the actor expressed his sincere apology to those who suffered because of his past actions and hopes that his current drama "River Where the Moon Rises" will not be affected because of him.

Due to this issue, the filming of KBS2's ongoing drama "River Where the Moon Rises" has been canceled today. The cancellation was the result of Ji Soo's apology letter that was posted online, in which the actor personally admitted to his past actions. A representative from the network revealed that since Ji Soo is currently involved in a controversy, there is a serious internal discussion regarding Ji Soo's continued appearance in 'River Where the Moon Rises.'

KBS2 plans to approach the issue cautiously. In addition, filming that was previously scheduled for March 5 has also been canceled.
