Red Velvet member Joy might have her much-awaited drama comeback!
Red Velvet Member Joy is Courted Play the Lead Role of Seong Mi Do in JTBC's "Only One Person."
According to a scoop on April 23, Red Velvet member Joy was cast in JTBC's new forthcoming drama"Only One Person."
On the same day after the news broke out, Joy's home agency, SM Entertainment, released a statement saying, "Red Velvet member Joy received a casting offer for JTBC's new series 'Only One Person,' and she is currently reviewing the project."
Fans were delighted about the sudden news and the hashtag "Actress Joy" immediately trended on Twitter and on the other online communities.
Meanwhile, the said drama will depict the story of a famous female influencer, and later on, discovers that she is terminally ill. When struggling to survive, she'll meet a man who will become important to her life.

If the Red Velvet member accepts the role, Joy is expected to play the lead character of Seong Mi Do, a popular influencer who turns out to have a severe illness. During her battle of fighting against her illness, she encounters the only person whom she considers as truly precious to her.
Seong Mi Do is a character that will show the complex feelings of facing a life-and-death situation while also trying her best to maintain her success as a famous influencer. Actors Park Sung Hoon and Ahn Eun Jin were also in talks to be part of the cast.
Actress Joy is Back After Almost 3 Years of Hiatus
And this would be Joy's first-ever drama project since 2018 in her drama "Tempted," alongside actor Woo Do Hwan. "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" director, Oh Hyun Jong, will be in charge of the upcoming series, and writer Moon Jung Min will pen the script. "Only One Person" is scheduled to start filming in August (2021) and will kick on primetime sometime in 2021 also.
"Tempted" actress has been known for her superb acting in her previous series. Aside from having a charming and strong presence on their stage performances, Red Velvet's Joy was quick to captivate the attention of the viewers with her artistic skills.
Recently, one of her co-members and the leader of their group, Irene, made her acting debut in the movie "Double Patty." Another Red Velvet member, Yeri, also confirmed to be part of the upcoming drama "Blue Birthday." Yeri was also part of tvN's "Drama Stage Season 4: Mint Condition."
