Devastating news shocked the entertainment industry as South Korean newcomer Jo Hana reportedly has passed away.
According to multiple reports, a friend on social media confirmed the actress' unfortunate death saying that the 23-year-old aspiring star committed suicide.
Why Did Jo Hana Commit Suicide?
In a post, her friend shared that a suicide note was found at the scene, revealing that the actress suffered many hardships.
Moreover, the note also disclosed that she had been scammed that caused her to lose two million won or almost $1,800.
"A small and nice child who dreamed of becoming an actress became a small flower and went up to the sky at the age of 23. She lost 2 million won after being tricked and suffered loneliness. She decided to choose a painless life," the post read as obtained by an outlet.
Who is Jo Hana?
Prior to becoming an actress Jo Hana worked in a club to help her mother and somehow make ends meet.
Since she was a child, she dreamed of becoming a famous actress.
The 23-year-old first appeared in May 2019 in KBS' "Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller."
During her variety show guesting, Jo Hana shared a heartbreaking story that involved her parents' divorce.
After her parents got separated, they failed to get her a birth certificate, making her live for 19 years without the said legal documents. Because of this, she was not able to attend middle school to high school.
Aside from not getting a formal education, Jo Hana did not have basic medical insurance benefits and did not take GED.
Fortunately, with the help of a lawyer, she was able to get her birth certificate and live a normal life after having her current name.
At the time, netizens blasted her parents for giving the aspiring actress a rough childhood.
However, she thanked them for their concern but defended her mother as she asked the viewers to spare her from criticism.
"Thank you so much for supporting me and worrying about me. But I hope you don't criticize my mother badly. She lived a hard life. She only sleeps 4-5 hours a day and works. She lived without her own leisure life," she explained.
During the interview, the newcomer also mentioned that she wanted to meet her father despite suffering from his domestic abuse.
To recall, Jo Hana said that it had been 11 years since she last saw her dad.
Interestingly, she explained that no matter what happens, he is still her father and the one who brought her to the world.
In addition, the aspiring actress also said that she believes that her father has a "little good side in him" she said.
This made the viewers heartbroken and sympathized with her unfortunate experience.

The following year, Goo Hara, who was a member of a girl group Kara, reportedly died of suicide after being targeted by online abuse.
