Kim Go Eun, Ahn Bo Hyun, Lee Yu Bi, and Park Ji Hyun are confirmed to lead the cast of the upcoming drama "Yumi's Cells."
Back in December 2020, multiple outlets have announced that the "Goblin" actress will appear in tvN's new drama.
Now, a new report cited that the broadcasting network has officially unveiled the powerhouse cast of "Yumi's Cells."
"Yumi's Cell" Release Date
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, the forthcoming evening drama will be directed by Lee Sang-yeop, whose famous works include "A Piece of Your Mind" and "My Holo Love" alongside creator Song Jae-Jung and screenplay by Kim Yun-Ju.
Amid the confirmation of its cast, the production team has reportedly started shooting "Yumi's Cells" and is slated to be released in the second half of 2021, simultaneously on Teabing and tvN.
In addition, the comedy romance show is expected to have two seasons with 14 episodes each.
Seemingly, a production crew from the upcoming drama shared some of the insights regarding the adaptation of the hit webtoon, revealing that "Yumi's Cells" will be a "seasonal drama."
"To maximize the beauty of the original, we combined live-action and animation. We are preparing for a new format in the form of an episode, a seasonal drama composed of 14 episodes per season," the production crew explained.

"Yumi's Cells" Cast
Kim Go Eun will play the titular role of Kim Yu Mi with her on-screen partner Ahn Bo Hyun is set to portray Goo Woong.
In a previous report, the "Cheese in the Trap" actress shared her thoughts after being casted to star in the comedy romance drama.
At the time, Kim Go Eun hinted about making the viewers cry and laugh at the same time, adding that she is looking forward to begin her journey as Yumi.
"I think the reason that the love story of the ordinary woman Yumi was able to make so many people laugh and cry over such a long period of time was because of how relatable it was."
Aside from the duo, Lee Yu Bi and Park Ji Hyun will appear as Ruby and Seo Sia.
Moreover, joining the "Yumi's Cell" cast is Shinee's Choi Min Ho as Wook and Got7's Park Jin Young, who will play as Yoo Babi.
"Yumi's Cells" Synopsis
The new webtoon adaptation follows the story of an ordinary office girl named Kim Yu Mi, who struggles to express her feelings due to her active brain cells. With her situation, she is having a hard time controlling her thoughts, feelings, and action.
Despite her hurdles, she met Goo Woong, who would, later on, turn her world upside down until she finds her happiness through simple joys in her life.
Goo Woong's character was described as someone who is easygoing and a romanticist.
"Yumi's Cells" will uncover the budding relationship of the two and meets unexpected situations along the way.
