Comedian and actor Lee Kwang Soo has been confirmed to leave variety show "Running Man."
King Kong Starship Confirmed Lee Kwang Soo's Departure from "Running Man"
On April 27, the public was shocked about the news that Lee Kwang Soo will be leaving the cast of SBS "Running Man." His home agency King Kong Starship was quick to release an official statement regarding the news.
According to the label, "Lee Kwang Soo was constantly undergoing rehabilitation treatment due to injuries caused by an accident last 2020." The agency further stated that there are activities in the project where it was difficult to maintain the best condition during filming.
The statement went on, "After the accident happened a year ago, we had a long months of discussion with the members, and production crew of 'Running Man' and decided to fully continue the rehabilitation treatment for Lee Kwang Soo's safety."
The 35-year-old star is about to end his filming schedule with "Running Man" on May 24. King Kong Starship shared that it was a difficult decision for both parties especially to Lee Kwang Soo because he has been with the variety show for almost 11 years.
"Lee Kwang Soo also expressed that focusing on his treatment is more important so that he can immediately go back in the industry for more shows and activities in the future safely."
The agency ended their statement by thanking all the local and international supporters of Lee Kwang Soo, and said that he soon he will again meet everyone with a healthy and bright appearance.
Meanwhile, Lee Kwang Soo is rumored to play the lead role in the upcoming fantasy drama "Hero," but the agency hasn't released a statement yet regarding this.

"Running Man" Cast to Continue Filming the Show
Fans of "Running Man" and Lee Kwang Soo showed their support nonetheless. The longest running variety show made the viewers entertained for years.
Its mainstays Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jung Kook, Haha, Jee Seok Jin, Song Ji Hyo, Jeon So Min, and Yang Se Chan will continue doing the show. Even with Lee Kwang Soo's departure, they all wish him to have a safe treatment and fast recovery.

Meanwhile, Meanwhile, celebrity couple Lee Sun Bin and Lee Kwang Soo met on the set of "Running Man" in September of 2016.
They announced their relationship in December that year, and earned genuine support from fans.
Reports also stated that Lee Kwang Soo had introduced his sweetheart to his celebrity friends Jo In Sung, EXO's D.O., Lim Joo Hwan, and more.
