In November 2020, it was announced that the popular Netflix series, "Money Heist" would get a Korean adaptation. Given the global following of this series, and the growing number of Korean drama aficionados, the news is positive all the way around for many.
"Money Heist" Korean Version Has a Unique Character Named Seoul
Now that a few weeks have passed since the official cast of the "Money Heist" SK version was announced, there's a new update on the show, which comes in the form of an unconfirmed rumor.
Reportedly, the Korean version of "Money Heist" will get a new character, aptly named "Seoul."
Allegedly too, this will be played by the South Korean actress Im Ji Yeon. This was tweeted out on April 28, Tuesday, but since there are no reports about it, it can first be taken with a grain of salt.

Details about the show apart from its official cast have been quite scarce, which adds to the excitement of fans raring to see how the popular show would be given a Korean twist.
South Korea is known for churning out great dramas and thrillers like pancakes, providing fans with wise and never-before-seen plots and twists, so fans are excited to know how a "Money Heist" with a Korean flavor would look like.
On March 31, it was announced that the show will be quite star-studded. The original "Money Heist" requires a lot of cast members to make the show work, some of whom are not that known before this show. When it comes to the number of cast members, it is not that different for this version. The main cast however for this Asian version is composed of actors who have their own strong fan bases.

In particular, it includes Yoo Ji-Tae, Park Hae-Soon, Jeon Jong-Seo, Lee Won-Jong, Kim Ji-Hun, Jang Yoon-ju, Park Jung-woo, Kim Ji-hun, and Lee Kyu-ho. They will be playing the professor, Berlin, Tokyo, Moscow, Denver, Nairobi, Rio, Helsinki and Oslo, respectively.
In the original show's Season 4, a character named Manila was introduced. It remains to be seen if there would be a Manila in the Korean version or if Seoul is actually the counterpart.
In addition, more known actors would play the Task Force Team in this South Korean adaptation of "Money Heist." Kim Yunjin will take on the role of Seon Woojin. On the other hand, Kim Sung-o will take on the role of Cha Moohyuk. Meanwhile, Park Myun-hoon will carry out the character of Cho Youngmin and Lee Joobeen will be Youn Misun. Youngmin and Misun are the hostages in the show.
"Money Heist" Korean Version Release Date
"Money Heist" SK version will have a total of 12 episodes. It will be set in the Korean peninsula.
The show will be under the helm of director King Hong-sun, whose portfolio of works included "The Guest," "Voice," and "Black." These are well-embraced dramas.
Up to now, Netflix has not yet provided the official release date for the Korean adaptation.
The original "Money Heist" creator and executive producer Alex Pina have revealed how confident he is that Korean creators will manage to develop the show successfully.
"Korean creators have been developing their own language and audiovisual culture for years. They have managed, like our series, to go beyond cultural borders and become a point of reference for thousands of viewers around the world, especially among young people," he said.
