After a series of speculations, the Korean drama "Island" has found the new female lead through Lee Da Hee.

In a new report cited by a local publication, the 36-year-old star is being courted to star in the upcoming OCN drama.

Lee Da Hee "Positively" Reviewing the Offer for "Island"

The news was confirmed by her agency, Studio Santa Claus Entertainment saying that the actress is positively reviewing the offer.

"Da Hee is affirmatively reviewing her appearance in "Island," a representative revealed to the outlet.

Moreover, "The Beauty Inside" star will act alongside Kim Nam Gil, who earlier confirmed his appearance.

On the other hand, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo is still in talks to join the "Island" cast.

Lee Da Hee To Replace Seo Ye Ji?

If Lee Da Hee accepts the role, she is set to portray Won Mi Ho, an heiress who is stuck in Jeju Island and was targeted by mysterious creatures.

To recall, the character was initially offered to Seo Ye Ji but has decided to withdraw from the drama due to her current controversy.

Earlier this month, the "It's Okay to Not be Okay" actress' agency GOLD MEDALIST announced that their talent is dropping from the upcoming program.

"A mutual, final decision has been made for Seo Ye Ji to not star in 'Island,'" the management confirmed.

Han So Hee Rumored to Appear in "Island"

Following Seo ye Ji's agency's announcement, Han So Hee was rumored to replace the actress.

However, her agency, 9 Ato entertainment, immediately denied this, saying that the 26-year-old actress is currently filming her upcoming webtoon-based drama "I Know But," together with Song Kang.

In addition, the management also explained that the rumors were "completely groundless" hence, clearing that Han So Hee will not star in "Island."

"Island" Synopsis

Based on the webtoon of the same name, the fantasy mystery drama is helmed by "My Dream Class" director Bae Jong and written by Jang Yoon Mi, who previously worked on movies "Cheer Up, Mr. Lee" and the 2015 film "Madonna."

The Korean drama "Island" follows the story of a wealthy Won Mi Ho, who is the only daughter of the Daehan Group owner.

Due to her arrogant and selfish attitude, her father has decided to transfer her to Jeju island, where she was assigned as a high school ethics teacher. Little did she know that the island has mysterious creatures.

There, she also meets Van, played by Kim Nam Gil and Kang Chan Hyuk, which was being offered to Cha Eun Woo.

Lee Da Hee on "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning"

Lee Da Hee has just concluded her recent drama "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning" alongside Kim Rae Won.

In her latest interview, the 36-year-old actress shared her thoughts regarding her role as violent crimes detective Gu Reum.

During the candid talk, cited by a South Korean outlet, the actress shared that she was thankful for being given a "meaningful challenge through Gu Reum."

Moreover, she revealed that the action scenes weren't easy peasy but mentioned that she did her best to portray the role.

She concluded her statement by thanking the viewers and fans who supported her drama.
